I am off to do my first dog assesment this morning.
I have read the guidelines about four times, and had a briefing from the boss.
Got the camera packed so I can take photo for the website.
Clipboard, paperwork, pen.......
Got dogs briefed to check out his friendly status.
Petrol in car,
Directions sorted-

If you don't own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life!

It was a big learning curve for me.
The dog was very well looked after, and many other springers would have been more than happy with his life.
His very responsible owner knew that he wasn't getting as much love and attention as he deserved.
She had really struggled to come to the decision that he would be more fulfilled in another home.
I had the greatest respect for her.

Up to now I have only seen the happier side, the dogs coming in to foster, having fun, and then potential owners coming to view, all excited, like expectant parents.
I am now more aware than ever that there are a lot of good people who put their dogs well being before their own emotions.

I hope I helped her just a little.

Gosh that must of been really difficult for you sad.gif , it makes me think about all these people that are actually being quite selfless for putting these dogs first.

By the sounds of it she is lucky that she had you to go through things with her and reassure her that her decision was for the best smile.gif although no doubt it must have been a really tough decision for her to make.

Glad it went well though (well as well as it could in those circumstances) biggrin.gif
