Bloomin dog!

I haven't had much kip this week, we've been really busy and last night I only managed 4 hours. This would be alright except tonight is Night Hawk were we send teams of Scouts and Exploers out into the wilderness with no route just a grid reference to get to and a load of hunters trying to catch them. Its fab, the kids love it and it really -*test*-('")s their skils.

But guess which lucky soul got checkpoint 2?! Yup you guessed right. Checkpoint 2 is the dead of night one, we arrive at a remote location at the side of a country path just after midnight, set up a shelter, table and get some hot water on the go. Checkpoint opens 1am to 3:30am and assuming all teams make it through on time we should be cleared up at 4 and hopefully home to bed by 5.

Anyhow, I came home tonight thinking I'd grab an hours sleep, its going to be a cold cold night and I need to be alert. I sneak into bed, OH nips out and Marlster decides that the best thing I can do is get up. He barks. He barks a lot, right down my ear. I put the pillow over my head and he wanders in and out, occasionally barking and then letting me start to drift to sleep before starting again. Then he randomly does one or several of the following things:

sits on me
lies on me
paws me
pulls the quilt off
even tried to pull the quilt from underneath me
he puts his nose under the pillow
nose in my face
flips himself over and shoves his backside in my face
rolls around scratching his back and kicking me loads in the process
gets himself under the quilt
and for his grand finish, he tries to dig under neath me!

Why does he not listen? Does he not want me to take him with me?! He defiantly never gives up!

And not one of your so called 'mates' offered to come with you

I think Marls wants to come too, keep you safe and protect you from those peskie cubs in the dark!

He thought you didn't look comfy and was trying to tuck you in?

Yes I noticed there was a silent response, instead I'm meeting a stranger at midnight( don't worry he's a scout leader and suppsoed to be very nice, I've never met him so I'm assuming he's young and charming and looks like Bear Grylls, I do hope I'm not dissapointed!! )

He certainly, I can always guarantee he guard the back of the car so if anything happens I'll just jump in there behind him!!!

No cubs tonight, this ones for the big kids, far too risky and cold for the little ones!

Oooohhhhh – it’s a bit chilly down sarf – must be icicles up there! Think I’ll put the heating on, have a beer, cuddle the non annoying dogs on the sofa, go to bed and not set the alarm

Sat in the living room witht he fire on trying to make sure I'm toasty warm right through BEFORE I go....tis going to be a chilly one!

Do you think Marlster will be warm enough?

Laughing keeps you warm. Marls will be doing a fair bit of sniggering at Mum from his nice warm car

Strangely, I've had to turn down the CH a notch - obviously giggling has the same warming effect

Marls will be fine hun, he's not as wussy as my lot, just pack him in with a big sleepy bag.
