Fair point Susanna

I don't think it's excess calcium though I think it's just bone residue, stuff that's left over after they've got everything out of their food and there's more than calcium in bones but you could be right, whatever it is though I would be happy to see a lot more of it around instead of the great big dollops of chocolate looking mush we encounter on our walks

I have been known to actually pick up a missed dog poo in our garden, one that I missed the day or night before which has just turned to a chalky blob with my bare fingers and put it in the bin. It doesn't smell and is light's a feather and yes I do wash my hands thoroughly afterwards

I wouldn't dream of doing this with a day old kibble or tinned meat poo I can tell you
My kids have 2 bone free days a week but no doubt there could be a bit of bone left over from the previous days meal that helps turn it white. I don't stick religiously to the diet plan I worked out as I did the plan for people new to raw feeding and it was put together to make switching over as easy as possible so neither constipation or loose poo should occur. Having fed raw for so long now I feel I can alter things a bit to best suit the dogs and use whatever is available at the time, seems to keep them all 'regular' so to say
Claire I'll gladly send the diet over for Ruby to have a look at, what size font would she like
