Hello - not had our pups for long (16 weeks) and we would like some ideas for interesting walks to go on, not too far away. Although the pups still need to take it steady at the moment - they won't be little for long, and we're looking forward to visiting some picturesque countryside, and taking the camera.

We've taken them to Ryton pools and Coombe Abbey so far -

many thanks

Pol

Not sure where you are in the Midlands but we love the Clent Hills - great for Springies and there's a fab Nat Trust cafe at the Nimmings Wood car park that does the best bacon butties !!!

Have you have a look on the National Forest website or is that too far?

not sure where it is Lisa - have you got a link please ?

Bradgate is the furthest one side and it goes all the way accross to Burton on Trent. Below is the link to the interactive map, you just have to choose walks on the left.

We moved to the Midlands last year and had to find new places for the dogs.
I don't know where you are but we take them to Cannock Chase and Shugborough Hall. Midlands is a big place though so maybe this will be no help.

When I lived in Leamington Spa we used to walk the dogs over Guy's Cliff, the Burton Dassett Hills, Warwick Racecourse and a woods in Kenilworth.

where abouts are you????? when we lived in Boldmere we used to take my Dad's dog into Sutton Park or Lickey Hills - smile.gif

Sutton Park is nice if your dogs are vaccinated. There are warnings up about how many dogs have died from something (can't think of what its called).

If you ever go there let me know and I will meet you up there.

rolleyes.gif as usual I am a bit late with this one, but over my end again there is Rutland Water, fantastic with a great pub biggrin.gif , Bosworth Batllefield, the dogs love it there but be warned - there are lots of muddy places rolleyes.gif , The footpath through Wistow we go a lot as is quiet and has a fantastic river running through it with slopign banks so it safe for the dogs, Swithland Woods, near Bradgate Park (the Cropston side, not the side we met) is amazing for dog walks, xxx
