We get a delivery every Friday, the kids fav day

Our butcher comes from a little village a few miles away and does deliveries to areas like us that don't go into town much. All locally produced meat and lovely corn fed chickens, he always gives us free pigs ears, trotters and lamb bones. We get our eggs from the farm up the road now, a huge tray of free range eggs, 24 for £3

I refuse to pay £2.45 for a dozen of so called 'free range' eggs from the supermarket. We used to have our own chickens but we ended up with too many rats popping in for a munch on their food so decided it would be better not to keep any.
Our rabbits we either shoot ourselves or a mate gets them for us for 75p each. We shoot our own pigeons. Venison we get from a mate too, or we'll get a call from someone saying one has been hit by a car and we go and pick it up instead of leaving it to rot by the roadside. One day we came across one that had been hit by one of the early morning milk tankers judging by the state of it, we had a car load of dogs and didn't know where to put it, so I climbed in the back with the dogs and the deer ended up sitting in the passenger seat so we could get it home
Came across a huge hare that had been hit by a car yesterday, shame really as we don't see many hares around these parts but it was collected, gutted and frozen as she hadn't been dead for long and despite being dead was in excellent clean condition!
We catch our own fish but get sardines from the supermarket but in the tins, they yak up fresh herrings and sardines for some strange reason
I will pick up a few odds and ends if I see a bargain when I go shopping but I always make sure whatever I buy is UK sourced and produced.
