Mines not as funny as the rest but I was VERY embarassed at the time. We were at a event at Cannon Hall Farm, raising funds and promoting the qualities of Springers. I let Woody out of the cage for one second and he ran over to the neigbouring food stall and weed up a large stack of breadcakes.

My favorite story though is my uncles (its only funny though because no one (or dog) got hurt and his position) - he's retired now but was quite high up in police force, there was a big hold up on the M18 because two dogs were loose on the motorway at rush hour. They were eventually caught and scanned and tracked to him, at the time he wasn't amused but his staff thought it hillarious.

My friend comes around for lunch and is not really a dog lover, infact she won't even stroke Holly without having to wash her hands after. sad.gif One day she came round when Holly was little and wore her new suede shoes 'that you can't get in this country' and was so worried about Holly sprinkling on them (like they do when they are little) so she took the shoes off. Anyway we were chatting about how well Holly was doing when out of the corner off my eye I see Holly running past with one of the precious suede shoes in her mouth!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif my friend was beside herself, here was this out of control puppy with her beloved suede shoes, and I couldn't get it back for I was laughing so much. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

We were walking around Mote Park in Maidstone,( it's a beautiful HUGE park with a massive lake). On a Sunday the model boat club are there with their prized possessions, well they were prized possessions until Murphy ran through the lot !! Well the boats shouldn't have been in the way when he was on overdrive running after a duck lol. We pretended he didnt belong to us and walked quickly away lol.
Halfway round Murphy decided a swim in the lake was in order then proceeded to jump in a big muddy puddle so he was completely covered in mud. We came out of the wooded area to a big field very popular with people and picnics. Murphy decided that it would be great fun to say hello to a very "clean" family and jumped all over them covering them in wet muddy dog. Hubby, (with a very red face) apologised over and over as Murphy wee'd on their sandwiches.
All in all a great successful walk lmao biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
I think I'll leave it a while before we go back hehehe

This is kinda funny but not and it happened to the OH years ago.

At the time my OH was Acting Sergeant in Durham and he got called to a sudden death in a little village. In he walks to see a sweet old lady sitting at the kitchen table with her head in her hands. "Hello Love" says the OH to the old lady and on getting no reply assumes she's asleep.

In the living room is a PC who's looking at an old man flat out in an arm chair, arms down by his side and his mouth open.

My OH speaks to the PC and indicates to the old man -"Is this the sudden death?" as the OH, "No", replies the PC "it's the old lady in the kitchen".

Took a while for the OH to live that one down!

I felt so embarrassed last year when we had a couple visiting us who are no dog lovers and Fipps decided to scoot her bottom along the living room floor...boy, can she humble me

Well S.Y.E.S.S.R knows about this one with daisy although there are many more I could mention as well. . . .
Daisy used to be a counter surfer a few years ago and also used to pinch anything left on work tops she could get her paws on!! We have taken a frozen french baguette out of the freezer (yes the very big, long ones from Tesco!!) and upon returning from the shop it had gone, wrapper and all ph34r.gif Daisy looking suspiciously HUGE. . . after a few days Daisy decided it was time for the wrapper to come out ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif so when I got home one day I see Dave my hubby in the back garden, Daisy up on her 2 back legs and Dave holding her front 2 up. . . with his marigolds on biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Daisy had obviously not managed to "pass" the whole wrapper herself and needed a "little help" from Dave, what Dave didnt realise was our neighbours were out in thier garden next door as Dave declared "THE AMOUNT OF THINGS I'VE HAD TO PULL OUT OF YOU A**E DOG" And Daisy looking very sorry for herself. . . .Am wetting myself just picturing it all over again!!!!!!!!

I suggest we start a new thread along these lines, we've had chewing. . . behaviour etc. but as you all must have a great sense of humour to have a springer in the first place there must be some tales to tell on this one!!!!!!!!!!

I have too many laugh.gif

-I had got barney only 2 months ago and had been told he was ball obessed, I soon found out he had no retrive what so ever so he stole alot of balls. The worst came on the second month of having him, see I live next to a park and in that park is a small bowling breen where they bowl. I have ALWAYS seen the gate closed until that fitful day I decided to lean on the other side and watch, well he got bored of me watching ran around, ran inside the bowling green, grabbed a bowl and shot off as fast as he could. Somehow I got him back and I could barley hold the thing so how the hell he ran so far and fast with it i'll never know.

-This was 6 months into having barney, I was at animal care at the time and every year they go to this hall to get people intrested to careers. Well two students volunteer I decided to do so and took barney with me. It was a great day everyone loved barney, he got spoilt we walked about etc and then my mum met me up for lunch and he got so excited he ran over to the hairdressing stall and cocked his leg up and created a Flood.

-This was only 2-3 months ago, Barney has this thing for a spayed female rottie well they were playing and rough housing as usual and we was right by the kiddies park, well I was at the top field bit with the rotties owner and the two dogs by the kiddies park. Barney done something i'll never live down, he decided to have his way with her and the rottie stood there enjoying it as much as he was. The worst thing was as I ran over parents coverd their kids eyes and even now kids will say they saw barney do the naughties. I felt so awful and the stares that came off the parents dear me this was worce than the other two.

Ive got a few little things which made me cringe!

Football training at the park, loads of lads working very hard...until ellie gets in the middle of them (her tail going mad) and then nicks one of the football cones!

Ellie and georgie running at the speed of light ....ellie barking chasing after swifts and sooooo not comming back to mummy whilst a group of people behind me are in tears of laughter! Thats my girls!

Ellie biting the bum of a duck and ending up with a mouth full of feathers...in the park again!

she has also got hold of a duckling and brought it back to me which wasnt very nice! unsure.gif

ph34r.gif they are not my dogs! lol dry.gif

me too, can't believe it - how embarrassing

Not very funny .... but tree surgeon No 2 just left and the girls were dreadful!

He came in through the side door, so I didn't have time to prepare them to behave for a guest and they just launched themselves at him, howling like banshees and wouldn't stop. I eventually dragged them off and threw them into the hallway ... forgetting the garden door was open. sad.gif

They reappeared 5 mins later and then Molly, who still isn't right, had a dire rear episode in front of him by one of the trees we were discussing, and then continued to crouch like Steptoe in front of us for several more dire rear episodes in several different spaces sad.gif

I went into apologetic/embarrassed mode - just couldn't laugh it off .... ph34r.gif I wonder if we will hear from him again. unsure.gif

When Bramble was a lot younger we decided to take her to the CLA Game Fair. First problem was we forgot her lead so she turned up sporting my husband's belt (first stop was to buy a lead), second was when we were stood watching a gundog demonstration. Bramble seemed to be sitting really quietly (surprising really as so far that day her boredom threshold had been just a few seconds). I looked down and spotted Bramble sitting really proudly with SOMEONE'S TAIL IN HER MOUTH! The other spaniel didn't seem too bothered but we thought we'd better move on before the owner noticed!
