Indie loves to jump into the wash basket when I'm sorting out the washing and steal my underwear... particularly my favourite lacey french knickers and the new pairs of socks I have to buy every week!

S.Y.E.S.S.R- 04-20-2008

I have loads of pairs of walking boots/shoes/wellies which I live in and a few pairs of casual shoes but only one pair of decent going out shoes which I needed to wear tonight, when I came to put them on I found I now no longer had a pair but instead had one and a half shoes sad.gif

I'm adding to Chip's list:

One bottle of lubricating oil for my paper shredder. mad.gif

He, of course, stole it when I was sleeping and he brought it to bed to enjoy. Squished it all over the bed and a pair of pants I had laying out for the next day mad.gif mad.gif I woke up to hear him sucking on the bottle to get the last little yummy bits. Robbie was trying to get in on the fun. mad.gif

He shows no ill affects after 5 days. blink.gif

I have learned this is a vegetable oil so he will not suffer any ill affect. huh.gif blink.gif

...I am wondering if any of you have found a particularly good way of discouraging this expensive pastime.

Dettol Multi surface spray did for Poll in this line. My grandmother would suggest a good strong Mustard or Horseradish (hot not creamed). They worked on my cousin but not on our old Rob.

Hard Tack Biscuits solved the chewing of car belts for Moll.

Hope that one of these helps biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Oh yeah I forgot to add flowerpots to all my broods misdeeds. Not to mention coal. Moll is currently into computer ink cartridges, and tubes of watercolour paint. Not so bad as the time she had a go at a tube of red oil paint just before a visit to the vets. She also likes to chew the cats. Any cat will do, but my poor old Oz is a delicasy (cost me £400+ in vet bills) at least we think it was moll who caused his abcess. mad.gif blink.gif mad.gif .

Lisa- 05-05-2008
wow polypots have you ever thought about putting things higher up in your house so they can't get to them, LOL

Walkingmate2- 05-05-2008
Our la-*test*-('") is his dog beds, they only cost a fiver from the local shop, he doesnt chew the fleece covered ones just the ones with the canvas surfaces guess it,s his way of saying I dont like THAT type laugh.gif

Anyhow went in the other morning and he,s ragged this one good and proper, the white stuffing was every where ohmy.gif

It,s was like a scene from a nativity play fake snow everywhere, three PAH squeaky toys had travelled from the orient far, and snoopy was standing in as the baby jesus unsure.gif

He,s sat there like a rapid dog with white fluffy muzzle with that look smile.gif

You might be surprised if he is a typical Welshie...they are not bad chewers. I trusted Fipps the run of the livingroom and kitchen from the age of five months onwards for up to three hours a couple of times a week and she was as good as gold. Just once a little nipple on the sofa. They're nowhere as destructive as a Collie can be. She never ever had a go on chair legs or anything like that.
But maybe he'll be the exception of the rule biggrin.gif

moxie's mum- 07-29-2008
I thought Moxie was the perfect dog. Not chewed anything since she was told off for stealing a wellie sock and taking it to her bed.
One day I was sat at my computer (on the its a spring thing site of course!)
I could hear her gnawing behind me. Thinking it was her ball, I turned round to smile - HORROR! she had taken my daughter's copy of Stephen Fry's "Hippopotamus" off the shelf and was deep in to the hard back cover.
Too late to retrieve it I went for the coward's option otherwise known as Amazon Marketplace!
So has anyone else's dog chewed a Hippoptamus?

springermad- 08-24-2008
The only thing mine has chewed is toilet rolland his teddies, he was a rescue and has been trained very well in his previous home where ever that was...! biggrin.gif
