Top dog / very proud to call him my best mate as well wink.gif

Ohhh...... if "HUMPING" & giving doggy lovebites to his doggy bed counts / mark it down as a naughty chew, he often does this after a good feed dry.gif i take that as a BIG thankyou for a good meal.
Cheers

Crikey, I think we've done relatively well with all our springers, but.....

Mac

1 Video remote control (it was going to cost more to replace the remote control that it was to buy the video - action; got of a*se to use video).
Toilet Rolls galore
1 ver special teddy bear

Buster and Charlie

Difficult to pin the blame on either one for these:

The corner of my new leather sofa
The corner of my new TV bench

Ben

Nada - he just pinches socks.

And I know a Golden Lab isn't a springer but:

Glen

Two new pairs of shoes
The heel of a new pair of shoes (belonging to a visitor - oops)

But his bes-*test*-('") ever chew was:

A whole box of wooden plaques being stored in our house ready for our local Miner's Gala - quick phone call to local cabinet maker saved our bacon.

Um, Ruby has chewed......

Me
the kids
the other half
the cats (both now left home)
socks
trainers
shoes
knickers
bra
brand new mobile
brand new pda
dining chairs
brand new carpet
settee
kitchen floor tiles
lumps of concrete
plastic bags by the dozen
tv lead
my car

Probably hundreds of other things too but we've kind of lost count! lol biggrin.gif

Looks like we've got off lightly!

Bramble:
one pen
one seat belt

Sage:
6 inch square of wallpaper
arial on ancient mobile
corner of a wooden linen box (at least it was a cheap one from B&Q)

Joint effort:
1 yellow pages - absolutely shredded and 6 inches deep in the back porch
1 road atlas - they left Scotland in one piece ???
Various shooting magazines foolishly left within reach when we went out
Many loo rolls - if you don't put them out of reach on leaving the house they'll be EVERYWHERE when you get back. We should have learnt by now.
Various toys of their own, their own towels etc - one on each end and puulllllll !!!

ellie&georgiesmum- 10-19-2007
Ive got another one....When ellie was about 3 months old she got hold of a cig packet and ate 3 cigs blink.gif

I've noticed that car seat belts have appeared on the lists more than a few times and as Jazz is developing a skill in chewing through my car seat belts mad.gif ...I am wondering if any of you have found a particularly good way of discouraging this expensive pastime.

I have just recently sprayed the chewed seat belts with Johnson's anti-chew and during our trip in the car tonight I heard some disapproving spluttering going on so I hope the spray is working as I don't want a repeat performance on the replacement seat belts. huh.gif

I am reluctant to put her into a travelling crate. The other two springers are fine and Jazz at 9 months is just going through a chewy phase........HOPE!!

So what has worked for you other car seat belt shredding springer owners?

God, seat belts! I am sooo with you on that! He seems to object to being in his harness, which is attached by seatbelt...
Other than that:
A skirting board
Cutlery - though he just likes to steal it
My file box
Shoes - doesnt chew them, but has a thing about only my shoes for some reason
Numerous newspapers and magazines - if he can get 'em, he shreds 'em!

...so far, that's about it (she says, hopefully...)

Kira has chewed *deep breath*

- A crochet a dog kit (obviously didn't want any cute factor competition!)
- The washing basket and lid
- Christmas decorations
- Shoes (although she has a special liking for the inserts)
- Books (including 3 library books)
- Socks
- A lampshade
- A computer printer
- A bin
- Toothbrush (both a manual and an electric one dry.gif )
- The kids bath paints
- The sponge
- The artificial coals from the fire
- Numerous buckets
- Dustpan and brushes (her fave!)
- Flower pots
- Watering can
- Almost a cat... ph34r.gif
- Almost a cockatiel ph34r.gif
- Broom handles
- Bag of sawdust (after running around in the garden with it to make it "snow")
- Loads of cardboard boxes
- Toilet rolls
- Playstation game disc
- Playstation controller and wires
- TV Remote Control
- Cards
- My craft embellishments
- Kids toys (with a love of toy cards)
- Pens and Pencils
- Her collar
- Tin Can
- Fridge Magnets
- Handbag
- A bar of soap
- A bottle of shampoo

That's for starters, I'm sure I could think of more if I tried....

Fortunately, she is a lot calmer and dare I say it "calmer" now, so we have far less chewing instances than we did when she was a baby.

laugh.gif Love her laugh.gif

Spaniel has not been guilty of chewing things (touch wood!) but oldest flatcoat has chewed:

kitchen wall
kitchen door frame
cooker knobs
knife block and knives (by some mirable he never cut himself)
wine glass (as above)
table leg
chair leg
kitchen blind (he got it down of the window)
6 bananas but only 5 skins
shoes - several pairs of
about a dozen dog beds (and he's still doing that at nearly 10)
swallowed and passed about 2 dozen socks
packet of fags
ibruprofen packet but luckily no tablets
epilepsy medication
kennel door
plastic tub
paper hankies/kitchen roll
vet bed

I am not quite sure how this dogs never killed himself. We always thought we had hidden everything but he seemed to find things we couldn't.
