Those of you who came to the Fling would have seen Tracey's wonderful TTouch demo and the effect it had on Molly - she relaxed so much she went to sleep tongue.gif
I decided to follow this up and got in contact with a local practitioner to learn some more.

The reason - Molly is an anxious little worrier of a dog, very very busy, always on the go, circles a lot always in the same direction, focuses completely when circling, is ball obsessed and I wanted to try and help her to relax a little.
As if to prove how anxious she gets sometimes, she managed to be sick during our session sad.gif

Yesterday Lesleyann, myself and Molly spent almost 4 hours together huh.gif and it was fabulous biggrin.gif
She spent a lot of time showing me all the methods of massage, explaining them carefully, practising on each other, before practising on Molly. We tried the wrap which once again seemed to bring her down an extra level, as if she felt safe/secure and we also did some ground work outside which kinda looks like agility but is slightly different and is done at a very slow speed to encourage the dog to use it's brain in a different way & slow down it's actions.
We talked about tension patterns, in particular the ones Mols demonstrates, signs of relaxing and the tutor made some observations on Molly which I had never noticed & yet I live with her 24/7 huh.gif and have done for 18 months!
Both Molly & I were shattered when we finished and had spent some real quality time with each other - we just curled up and went to sleep tongue.gif

All in all, I'd say I learned loads yesterday, not only about TTouch but also about Molly and I'd highly recommend it

Great update Gilly, I was so impressed with Tracey that I have looked into going to Tilley Farm for the weekend, I just need to book now and make time to go.

Are you going again?

I was very impressed with how Chase responded to Tracey and how he responds to me. I just can't get my head around the Tilley Farm site rolleyes.gif .

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Brilliant, I know how chuffed you were.

I was really impressed with Tracy's class, I could have listened all day and was ever the sceptic till I saw it in practice. Molls, Bam, Tilly, Barney and Murph were perfect stooges, all different but all treat with great respect and calm.

Great biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
I'm off to get the photo from Andy's phone so people can see how dramatic it was.
Sounds like a really rewarding day Gilly.

And sorry this one's a bit blurred, but it was just as she was settling down for a massive snuggly snooze smile.gif

Try the www.ttouchtteam.co.uk site rather than the www.tilleyfarm.co.uk site. You might find it a bit less busy.

Also, the TTouch practitioner trainings are coming up (held at Tilley Farm in Somerset. There are 2 client days scheduled so you can have an individual session for you and your dog for a £10 donation to The Mayhew Animal Home. The client sessions take place between 10 and 12 noon on Friday 26th September and Saturday 4th October. These client sessions are used as training sessions for trainee practitioners and are supervised by qualified practitioners.

Thanks so much for that, Gilly.

I'm glad you found somebody to go to. LesleyAnne is lovely.

I was very very sceptical about TTouch as well when I first heard about it. It sounded like the biggest load of rubbish I had ever heard. laugh.gif

I only tried it because I was desperate. I found that it really did help and that was why I decided to learn more about it.

The demo dogs at the Fling were all lovely. It was a pleasure for me to get to work with them.

Tracey xx

You could be describing Lily there Gilly, the only thing she doesn't do the circles, except when she is flicking the ball, always to the right!

After reading about how you got on at the Fling and now this I think I seriously need to look into it for Lily. So glad its working for her. Big hugs to you both xx
