Due to unforeseen circumstances we need to move Mitch & Jade, 11 yr old female Springer Spaniels into another foster home.

Mitch & Jade are legally owned by Oldies Club and we have full liability insurance in place. However, we do ask volunteers to advise their motor insurers they are transporting for dog rescue so that they are covered for all eventualities.

Mitch & Jade are to be transported in a secure but safe manner. No children or pets should travel in the same vehicle without our prior knowledge and approval. Transporting guidelines will be issued to everyone helping with this run.

The full journey is from Morecambe, Lancashire LA3 to Watford, Hertfordshire WD17 taking approximately 4 hours.

The route will go through Lancashire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Midlands, Northants, Bucks, Hertfordshire.

M6, M1, M25

If you can help could you please state the days you are available and where you can meet up either side of your journey. Then I can work on finding volunteers to meet up with you at those points.

hey if u can't get it sorted we might b able to drive part of the way, we are in cheshire, could meet up on services along m6 or something, free pretty much most of the time!

if this doesn't work and you decide to head down the M1 all the way from the north I can help with moving across the M62 across to the m1. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone. I think we'll manage to do the planned route but you never know. So it's always nice to know you have an alternative.

We have an offer in for 18th/19th October only from Lancaster Services to Knutsford Services in Cheshire on M6.

I could do M1 junction with the A421 at Brogborough (sorry don't know the junction number) down to Watford. It would have to be later on in the afternoon though.

I have a large crate in my car - has been known to transport 4 springies on a very short journey! Will they travel OK together in that?

eta: I think it's Junction 13

aww what a shame i no longer live in the midlands, i have moved to sunny devon, but then again i know if i did transport them i would end up keeping them lol

This is looking good for the weekend 18th/19th October now. We seem to have the top and bottom bit pretty much covered.

Can anyone help from Knutsford Services to Corley Services area near Northants. Could be we need 2 transporters for the gap.

I've just had another offer in as a lady is driving from Runcorn to St. Albans anyway on Monday 13th. Seems a shame if we can't fit in with this somehow. She has said she's leaving Runcorn early though so I'll find out how early that is exactly.

Don't suppose anyone can do Morecambe/Lancaster to M6 in Cheshire to link in with this?

We are doing the Lancaster to Knutsford section and Sunday would be much better for us so that could fit in well...

I'm now finalising this run as we appear to have enough volunteers to cover this.

This run is taking place Sunday 19th October

Ellieandgeorgiesmum (and dad) to meet up with current fosterers at Lancaster Services.

Then meet up at Knutsford Services with Psycho Pup who will take to Corley Services.

Am just working on getting the timing sorted and putting folk in touch with each other.
