Firstly i wouldnt expect her to be completely toilet at 15 weeks and certainly not at 13 weeks as the previous owner said. It might be an idea to not leave the door open but put her out at regular times during the day. I say this because if you leave the door open and she goes out for a wee and you dont see then she wont recieve the praise, therefore doesnt know its the right thing to do. Try to be the one letting her out and then (like you said() praise like mad.
Also i was always weary about leaving a door open when they are little as they can get into such danger in the garden at this age when unsupervised.
It does take time but all dogs seem to get it in the end.
Also alot of people use crate training and this seems to work quite quickly. I didnt use this personally but i know alot of people on here have, so they can best advise on that.

Good Luck

I agree with Sandra about not leaving the door open, but for different reasons. I left it open for Angel when she was a pup, the problem is, she never learnt to cry to go out for a wee, even 4 yrs down the line, she will just stand at the garden door making no noise!

You have to be more aware of the signs that she is about to go, sniffing in circles etc, If you see her weeing in the house don't say anything, just pick her up mid-wee put her where you want her to go and say "wee's" then go over the top with praise. I also crated Angel at night, it did mean getting up a few times to put her out - but it definately paid in the long run

Good luck

When i was toilet training my two I used the same key words every time
Have a wee girls in a soft voice.
I spent most of the summer of 2006 in the garden with them well it felt like it as I prob took them out every 15 mins laugh.gif
I praised them when they had a wee etc by just saying good girl/girls.
We had loads of accidents in the home but I ignored these (even on my cream carpets laugh.gif ) any accidents i cleaned with bio washing powder and then took them outside.
I cant remember how old they were when they were toilet trained and I stopped watching them every time they moved around
