Its not a poem, I'm not so clever that I could even think of writing a poem, its just something that I'd like to share with you.

When we lose some one or a pet we often remember them by writing the date they were born and the date they died, in the middle of those two dates is a dash.

The date they were born is important, that's the date their life began.

The date they died is important because that marks the day their life ended and we lost that some one or pet we truly loved, it will always be remembered as a sad day.

Something we often don't think about though is the dash, the dash is such a short thing compared to the dates, but that short dash represents a life full of living, a life full of love, whether its a dash that represents a life that was short or a dash that represents a life that was long matters not, what does matter is the love, memories and good times contained with in that small over looked dash.

The dash it seems is more important then the two dates it joins, so isn't it better to remember the dash rather then the dates smile.gif

Oh that is so true. Makes me think of our Bethany who we lost two years ago now and still miss every single day, but I love to remember the fun we had walking in the Lake district and her beautiful personality.

What a really wonderful thought.

I sell gravestones for a living and type that little dash every day. I'm going to feel so different about it now.

Thank you.
