Wow biggrin.gif Definitely something to think about!

Spoke to vet this am and don't think am any wiser! He said doing right thing and doesn't need to see Toffee unless looks infected-which it doesn't. Said let air get to it as much as poss, cover for restricted walks. Explained Toff licks it alot and he said she shouldn't do that too much or will re-open so I should cover or put lampshade on Toff!! Which def is not good idea as she hates a collar as most dogs do. sad.gif

But now I feel more confused re covering/leaving open, going to leave open and enourage Toff not to lick...try!! Then cover for walk and overnight because she drove me mad licking at it last night (yes she sleeps in our room but not usually on our bed!!) If licks too much will definitley resort to superglue!!

Roll up a towel and wrap it round her neck if you have a collar that will go that big, roll the towel round the collar to attach- much nicer than the buster collar.

The wound will heal much quicker if it is superglued now- plus it lessens the risk of infection taking hold.

Thanks so much for your advice Izzie and others. Have been cleaning Toffee paw out and not infected. Looks like it's starting to heal from inside cos doesn't look as deep. Covered it with a sock so can breathe a bit but discourages Toff from licking it abit!!

Will def keep the superglue in mind for next time cos edges won't meet this time as healing inside up and prob left it too late this time. Praying she won't have this prob again, but if so I know what to do!!
