Can be very naughty .

Now Mugi is showing tomorrow and whether it is technically not quite form to show a dirty dog I see no reason to bath an old man unless his health will benefit. He is clean enough and a quick polish with baby wipes will suffice. To be honest his short show career has very nearly finished now and it is only cos he has fun that he will continue to attend the odd show.

Chase on the otherhand had a bath earlier, he has been trimmed as much as I dare (with an opinionated teenager I do what I can without battles) and I thought we were set. This evening he has rolled in something somewhat fragrant so I have another bath lined up for the young git!!!!

Sometimes I wonder why I bother, especially as Freddy (who hates being trimmed) has tried to help me all the time I was sorting Chase. For help please read 'hinder and wind the pup up' .

I know someone who never baths her dogs before showing. I wouldn't recommend never, but if they are clean, and particularly the elderly, then why not give a bath a miss occasionally? Still, in this weather, mine seem to like getting wet and cooling off a little.
