morning all,

i am totally worried out of my mind! sam has been missing since 7.30 last night. he went off down the road chasing a cat and i havent seen him since. when he's gone awol before he's always come home or i've managed to find him. but this time he hasnt come home. i had a good walk round the golf course last night and this morning and nothing. i'm really scared that hes wandered off further afield and got himself lost. or even worse he's been run over. i just hope someone finds him and he's okay. i will report him to doglost too.

no news as yet. ive just rang the club house on the golf course and they're gonna ask their members to keep all eyes open for him. i just hope he's okay and not injured somewhere. anyway i'll keep you posted

Oh get home quick and safe Sam, you are a norty lad scaring mum like this.

Right:

Taxis and Private Hire Companies - phone and offer a cash incentive for help/finding Sam
Post Office and if you can local sorting office - get posters up and then all local posties will know - they cover the whole area.
GRoss but important - get a spray/sqeezy container with your pee in (diluted works fine) and distribute it in areas where you and he normally go - if you can make a trail back home. Can also do this with contents of your vacuum cleaner. Both these carry your and your home's scent.

Talk to schoolkids - get posters to local schools- often helps

Grab any delivery type person you see and bung a leaflet at them. DELivery men, posties and taxis cover a vast area.

Speak to the Police, dog warden and ANY local kennels/rescues you can think of. Ask both police and dog warden where they send 'strays' be aware it could be up to 100 miles away as they go by contract price and not distance (which is madness)

If I can help with anything give me a shout. I'm in York but am happy to make phonecalls for you if you give me a list of numbers. Not the first time I've done that for people miles away.

Finally - keep you chin up................... sending positive COME HOME SAM thoughts.

Edited to add that perhaps someone has taken him in last night and is waiting for the morning to sort things out and get him home.

thanks again everyone. my neighbour has just come back from having a good look around but again nothing. will ring my local school as that backs onto the golf course so the kids may see something hopefully! given details to doglost. dog warden not available til this afternoon, but will keep trying. will ring cheshire dogs home as its only round the corner from me.
