Eildonsmum- 09-12-2008
Hello folks. You may have met me before. I came here only a five weeks ago as Eildonsmum. We had just lost our old liver and white girl Tessa 14yrs. She did well eh! And it was very sudden in the end. Eildon was so lost on his own, he never had been as he came from a farm with loads of other dogs. Well I am pleased to say that we have now re-homed a 2 yr old liver and white boy called Rough. He is a handsome boy and after only a few days he has settled into the family. rolleyes.gif They day before we went to see him I had a wobbly. I felt dead guilty about taking on another dog so soon, but my poor boy was lost, he has brightened up now rolleyes.gif This is him in the car with Eildon. He just jumped in a decided he was coming with us. They cuddled all the way home.

Rough was NESSR rescue boy. We went to collect him last Sunday from his foster home. There seems to be no bad history there. He is a very nosey and alert boy. He is good at coming to his name and doing all kinds of party pieces in the house. But go outside and forget it!!! He dashes about totally ignoring ours cries, well roars then. He goes Rough who is he never heard of him doh!! biggrin.gif This afternoon we were out a wlk when the local rugby match was just kicking off, Rough had to stop and listen to both teams getting called out, well I said he was nosey. Here are some photo of him as the week went in. At start of week he was as we got him unclipped, then day by day we tidied up up in stages. He is a wee cracker. rolleyes.gif Excuse differant sizes of photos as this is my umteenth try and had it now ph34r.gif

Kate what absolutely lovely pictures. I love the one of them with their faces over the back seat of the car. Fantastic.

Rough looks so happy and at home, and Eildon is not alone any more.

I'm sure Tessa is looking down with approval. She would not want either you or Eildon to be sad anymore.

I look forward to hearing lots more of their new friendship.

I had a few exploits of my own today so will catch up with you soon.

He's gorgeous and I'm sure he'll be just what Eildon needs to help him cope with losing Tessa. Love the photos!

Beautiful pics of a beautiful boy wub.gif wub.gif Reminds me of my Moll...

It took me ages to come to terms with the fact that I had to get my old Poll a companion. I felt guilty and sure she would hate me. I felt bad when I got my hampsters too - she did not approve. But I will forever be grateful to Moll for what she did for Poll's final years. She loved her Moll, and I now wouldn't be without her.

It looks as if you have done the right thing for Elidon, for you, and Rough. I am sure Tessa approves.

On another note, how do you get them to stay in the boot??? Moll loves a parcel shelf (she sometimes sits on my shopping in my boot), but often sits on my passenger seat. I like this, as I can pet her, know what she's up to, and it shocks other drivers/pedestrians (I have a left hand drive smart car). biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Poll loved the front seat - that was HERS. We tried Rob in the boot, but he would escape through the bars. Gave up in the end biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Eildon has always been fine in boot and has never tried to come over into car. The last car had a dog guard, but because my daughter had just passed her -*test*-('") when we changed cars we did not put guard in. Eildon never bothered to come over, Tessa could not get over. Rough has come over the first few times, in and back out. Think he has the message. He is the same with our bed, up then down, chancing his luck. When we had Sandy our golden lab and Rhona our black lab x collie, no mater how tight you screwed the dog guard when you came back to car there would be Rhona in the drivers seat and poor Sandy in boot with dog guard on top of him ohmy.gif All good fun eh.
