Hi Monday i noticed that Racer has started o scrate alot and he is actually making his chest score. First I flea treated them, as I'd delay it because of the antibiotics for his ear infection. That out the way on Monday and he is still scratching. I'm posting it here because I'm worried it's the change in diet. He's been on raw for over a month now. He's really enjoying it and seems fine and as lively as usual. Their diet is made up of turkey knecks, chicken legs and wings, lambs ribs and breast, landywood chicken mince, and twice a week mushed veg with liver and heart. oh and some sardines!

Murphys seems fine. Really I'm just panincking I'm not leaving everything important out of their diet before I start looking into other things.

What was his diet before??? My boy is allergic to chicken so we have to avoid that or his skin flares up.

What does the itchy area look like?? Could be nettle rash perhaps??

Before he was on jameswellbeloved, which doesn't included chicken. Thers's no rash, it just looks a little pink like if i was to scrath in the same place for a while. I really looking for reassurance I'm not missing anything vital in his diet.

Thanks sue

The diet looks fine to me!

It could be an allergy, but it could also be many other things. Maybe the vet should have a look to rule out parasites.....

Did he have any chicken in his diet (tidbits) when on JWB???? Many dogs who do have allergies to food, quite commonly it is usually chicken - maybe you could substitute chicken for something else and see if this makes any difference??

It could be so many things, speak to your vet if you are unsure, he would probably do skin scrapes etc, but would probably also look at his diet - and the first thing to go would be the chicken wink.gif

Hope you solve the mystery soon. Have you tried a soothing shampoo or Sulphur - that really helps with itchiness smile.gif

Hi,

He has had chicken on and off, but not so much before. Keeping an eye on him for the minute, He's been to vet alot lately with an ear infection and I don't want to unduly scare him.

Sulphur? Enlighten a dappy blonde woman! laugh.gif

Will cut down chicken and see what happens, He's isn't scrathching enough to break the skin (at mo). Thanks

Sue
