I have been reading the very useful threads on here and am looking at RMB feeding for Scooby. I just have 2 questions...

if i feed scooby wild rabbit - are there health risks from diseases carried by the rabbit - if so, how are these dealt with?

i do a lot of spearfishing and kayak fishing, so fish seems like an obvious choice of meal for Scooby; i gather that people tend to cook the fish, but what about the bones - i dont want scooby ending up with a throat full of fishbones...?
Surely you dont fillet the fish for the dog huh.gif

I know these are probably really daft/obvious questions (shows how little i know on the subject) any advice would be appreciated smile.gif

Some dogs don't like or can't tolerate raw fish, hence people cook it. I've had no problems with what I have given Vinnie, although it has been limited.

With regard to the rabbit, if he caught it himself and ate it I doubt he would suffer any ill effects! I think that they have the means of dealing with it.

Have you visited the BritBarf group on Yahoo? I know there are people on there that feed wild rabbit.

Hope this helps

We gut and then Freeze the rabbits before feeding.
Freezing will kill off any parasites. We feed the whole rabbit semi frozen coat and all.
my two have caught rabbits and ate them there and then now and again, these tend to be young rabbits or ones with mixie who are very slow.
Mixie doesn't cross over and harm the dogs.

My two wont eat raw fish I have tried but they just don't like it.
I feed them tinned fish and remove oil( ie sardines.)
If you can get your dog to eat fish that would be great food .
