Well who would have Springers???? Lilley who we have had since February this year decided that she would 'cock a deafen' while out on a walk. There we were with the three girls all enjoying the warm weather walking thru the fields at the back of our property. Lilley, Jessie & Maisie enjoying springing thru the beat fields and then returning to the footpath. Lilley then decided to venture further into another field, she was having the time of her life flushing out loads of pheasants and wood pigeons. Anyhow, we lost sight of her and despite whistling and calling she was no where to be seen. mad.gif mad.gif OH went further along to see if she had come out at the top of the huge field, but no such luck. I remained where she went into the field. I noticed loads of pheasants taking flight but no sign of Lilley. Anyhow, we had almost given up hope after 20 mins or so and hey presto, she just turned up as calm as be. She had obviously had her fill and decided to return.

Having been trained to the gun before we got her, obviously her instincts are really strong and once she gets on the scent of something turns 'deaf'. The other two are not like this.

I hate those heart stopping moments!!!!!! Mine become deaf to me sometimes too (well except Yoyo) but sally has got real hunting instinct and just ignores me. Makes me all jittery!!
