OK so the printers have sent me a message, because of the white areas on the dogs, the outline will be black but he sky blue will show through in the areas of white as the white bits wont be white, if that makes sense, they screen the black areas of the t-shirts, do you reckon this is gonna look weird and I should enquire about using additional white as a colour or change the t-shirt colour??? all opinions appreciated????

I think that looks fine. If it's just printed in the black and perhaps forget the white - that's if they were planning on doing a two colour print anyway.

I personally thought it was just black on the t-shirt anyway - and was perfectly happy with that
