Meg has been with us for about 8 months now ... shes never been a cuddly girl - rather too busy for all that nonsense - and any initiation from us is greeted with extreme irritation - lots of curly lips and grumbles.. dont get me wrong she has always liked a good scratch and a conservative cuddle but nothing too soppy.

However I think shes begining to come round - the last few days shes started coming up and sitting next to me on the sofa (she normally takes up residence on the other by herself) - not too close though ....just close enough - but today she decided to take it a step further and plonked herself right up in my lap - probably one of the most inconvenient times to do so - but i didnt have the heart to move her off - continued trying to read with a lack of light and in an excruciatingly awkward manner until i started to go numb in areas!

she hasnt come from a bad background - as far as we know - but shes a very sensitive, highly strung and cautious litttle girl in many ways - its such a privalage to be earning her love and trust!

We have certainly seen her grow in confidence greatly over the last couple of months - her growling when either of us leaves the house - or goes to bed is dwindling - not entirely eradicated but huge improvements. Although on her hols in dorset with the parents she started the leaving trauma scenarios with them a few days into her stay, (with what, going by their description, suggests her original passionate approach had returned)- they were terrified - my poor mother was pinned up against the wall on her way to work one morning! We have learnt to ignore her - theres never been any physical agression just a lot of verbal abuse - but i remember the first few weeks she was with us and it was scary when you didnt know what her intentions were ....

anyway - sorry to ramble on - as i say - we are feeling very proud to be gaining more and more acceptance every day - and just wanted to share - so pleased we have persisted and recommend to anyone who is considering giving a springer a second chance! ALso very thankful to this site - rather an uder the radar member - but do love to read and catch up on your news every day and esp love the photies - many thanks all!

please excuse short hair in some photies - lack of ears - cut short for summer ... well that was the idea .... wasnt really necessary! however, have avoided sticky things which is a bonus when she isnt keen on having them removed .....
