she says somewhere in a later post it is a springer/cocker x she is referring too.

Just don't know what might happen to it?

ive just read the post on dog pages, bit confusing though isnt it, is the dog 4 years old as in 1st post, or 3 years old as in later post, a largish donation , then £30 donation for booster in latter post, mind you, dosent take much to confuse me unsure.gif

the whole thing is very odd, a well established rescue taking in a dog, then saying they don't want it, knowing it's agression issues

odd...but hope the dog will be OK, poor little thing sad.gif

Anyone know what did happen to this dog, I have been reading his story but then the news stopped.

I was following it on RHU, again thread locked and trail stopped dead sad.gif

Is it possible it could be some kind of wierd elaborate hoax - there were several mentions of not being able to afford the petrol to go and get him, maybe they were hoping for donations?

Or have I really got just too cynical!!!

No Cynthia offered to take him according to the owner, someone suggested NESSR and Cynthia got in touch with her smile.gif

Likewise Selina.

I did point out to the mods and admin on that forum that there were some legal aspects to be taken into consideration in this particular case and that there were people interested in the outcome. But the RHU thread was locked before there was a definite resolution, or at least it was locked before the rescue rep said they were definitely taking the dog; they were only "in contact" with the owners at that stage and could well at that point have refused to accept the dog. I suggested they contact "The Spirit of the Dog" who have qualified behaviourists, there was no response to that. There were three requests by OP to shut the thread which appeared to me to be a little hasty, what harm would it have done to leave the thread to run.

Am I right in assuming that the dog is no longer with the owner, that it is actually IN rescue or foster? I think that's all people want to know.

Let me explain why I feel so strongly; I come at this problem with a young cocker here, whose case is very similar, who had been kept in a yard for over a year, was aggressive, taken to be PTS, taken in by a rescue, rehomed and returned to rescue as aggressive. He has been with me for 5 months now living in my home with me and my cockers and he is only just fit to be rehomed now, there are no quick fixes in this.

I rarely place a dog unseen in a foster home unless I know the fosterer has experience of aggressive or unpredictable dogs and has the ability to assess the dog and manage the situations which may arise (or should I say erupt!) it is potentially too dangerous.

I know where you're coming from Eileen, ALL of our dog's are fully assessed before rehoming or going into foster care, especially if the owner's are honest enough to say there is an aggression problem, even foster homes have to be suitable for each dog. It is only very experienced foster placements that were confident enough to deal with a dog with a suspected aggression problem that I would consider for a dog like this and sadly they are very few and far between.

It would be nice to hear a final outcome for this dog, hopefully he's somewhere safe and getting the rehab he needs. sad.gif
Thats the trouble with hastily locked/deleted threads people are left wondering.
