Jess has a poorly leg sad.gif
She was fine out walking, I think she had a collision with Charlie, but that's a fairly frequent thing rolleyes.gif Got her out of car when we got back, and she's holding her back left leg up high. I checked for cuts etc, no obvious reason. Took her to the vets, and the lovely cute new young vet ( biggrin.gif ) totally checked her over, and could see nothing. He thinks it's a soft tissue injury. Now, is that a bruise? Recommended a five day course of anti inflammatorys, but said not to rest her too much, she could get a bit manic round the house and hurt herself more.
I have given her an anti inflam tonight, it's obviously sore for the poor little love, but hopefully not for 5 days. And I think taking her up to soft fields to run is a better idea than running round the house rolleyes.gif
Poor lil girl sad.gif

Hmm. Watching her now, she definitely won't be going out tomorrow anyway, then we'll have to see? I think he meant that if she started to go a bit stir crazy, then a gentle run on grass would be better than a loon here. But if she still holds it up, I think she'll stay in unsure.gif

Which anti flams V ?

Tis the dreaded Rimadyl. sad.gif
But a very low dose, and she needs something sad.gif

I gave my Jess St John's Wort (liquid) for her bad leg before she went to the vets.

She has had the rym prescribed but wont use it unless I really need too.

If she has had the rym get her to drink plenty - give her watered down goats milk if needbe.

Again, my own opinion but ditch it or see if they will swap it for Metcalm at the very least.

But I wouldn't use either.

If she's in pain, it sounds horrid but the less damage she will do. She won't tear around the same. Remember J's leg, I stopped the Metcalm, well I didn't start it. He had to take it steady. He was on lead walks and stuck to them, contrary to belief. He was only let off a week later, no meds just rest.

I agree, totally no point in masking the pain, only gave her one tonight because it obviously hurts and I want her to rest. But can't do lead walks with her really, she's too little, so if I take her on her own to soft grass, she'll pootle next to me, but that all depends on how she feels, def day off for at least tomorrow.

Poor Jess, another ST invalid that should come down here and join Aunty Pennie in R&R..... mind you, I'll be running out of crutches soon......

hugs to baby Jess from me.

glad to hear its nothing too serious, hope she's feeling better tomorrow.

I hope Jess recovers quickly.

I noticed Jazz was hobbling after a recent walk, I thoroughly checked her leg and paw but found nothing. She didn't appear to be in pain so we left her. Following morning she was back to normal.

I suppose the cute vet will be an inducement for the odd visit then laugh.gif
