well -almost exactly 24 hrs after it all happened - shes home!!! shes come in and eaten chicken and been out in the garden and done her stuff - so everything seems to be working pretty well - limping a bit but to be expected -she has metacam and will be going back mon for a check up
we just cant believe it! so relieved .... this time yesterday we would not have thought we would be sat here now with her curled up in her basket with us
when she was hit she had a couple of accidents and so is pretty smelly and a bit sticky round the rear end - i dont want to poke and prod her about but just wondered whether she would appreciate a little sponge bath - what do you think? should i leave it for now or would it make her more comfortable? would appreciate your thoughts .....
thank you again for all your support - all your kind wishes have helped us keep up positive thoughtsxx

I would sponge her down as the longer she is soiled the harder (and even more sore) she could get - almost like a nappy rash. If she doesn't like it and is distressed then stop but if she copes then I would go for it.

thank goodness she is home. I think a warm sponge down could be quite relaxing. If she gets stressed then stop and try again another time. You must be so relieved, what a nightmare for you.

OMG ohmy.gif how awful for you. Glad to hear she is now back home and not seriously hurt. We too recently experienced this and I know exactly what you have been going thru. Luckily our Jess was unhurt - only me the owner sustaining a cracked bone in my arm when I finally caught her in a field - and I willl heal in time. Sending healing thoughts your way.

So glad she is back home with you,big hugs to all of you smile.gif A sponge bath will do her the world of good, make sure you sit her next to something warm though,so she doesn't get a chill! After Molly's accident the only thing she let me do was groom her smile.gif I think it's a woman thing laugh.gif

How is Meg this morning? Did you all have a good night?

meg102- 09-14-2008
we all slept downstairs last night - very well as it happens! I think we were all feeling pretty drained..... wanted to make dure meg didnt try going up and down stairs - her back right leg is seems to be the mot problematic area - she has had a few probs anyway with this in the past - after a long walk it seizes up a little anyway - keeping an eye on it - going back to vets tomorrow for check up - vet was pretty sure there was no break - but hoping there isnt fracture or anything - hoping is just bruised and sore-
she has been enjoying her chicken meals! oh managed to wipe her back end down gently last night while i fed chicken at other end -
glad she came home as she is much more settled here than she would have ebeen in vets - esp with fireworks from proms last night .... she is very alert and aware of everything - barking from her basket at the neighbouring dogs
she is sat here with me now reading sunday papers adn looking forward to bacon sandwiches -
my sister has offered to come up from poole and dog - as tues and wed both me and oh will be working long days ...
so all in all things are going very well - going to potter in garden today
will let you know how vets is tomorrow - we are over the moon with everything so far!
speak soon
many thanks
Gxx

So Glad she is home, Jess was hit by a car when she was 6 months, she wasnt injured in any way but recently her hips have been playing her up so she goes to the chiropractor every few months for a session, in fact both girls go and they look so much better afterwards!

Hugs to you and Meg
xx
