Danni at this stage they will need his release fee from the pound then they will need 2 weeks worth rescue kennels before he can be brought over to UK. I'm skint (as usual biggrin.gif ) but if you want to put up an appeal for funds thread I'll chip in something too.

You know who he reminds me of Danni?

I get paid Monday so will pay for him to come across think its about £70 need to ask Tempo what else he needs but think she taking him with her not sure, but I NEED him so missing an older springer. If he needs any vet treatment I can get that sorted for pennies then I will ask Selina and Hilary to find him a home. He looks so scared makesme so sad.

I'm like fifer, also short on pennies, but I'll happily chip in what I can if it helps him.

Sometimes the heart just has to rule the head - we've all been there, and I know I'll be there again! Went to N Ireland to pick up a couple of dogs once, who were transported up from S Ireland. Wouldn't do it every week, but wouldn't rule it out in the future wink.gif.

As he's a poundie, please bear in mind the risks of parvo virus and other diseases. Some pounds give a 'temporary vaccine', to give the dogs a little protection whilst they're in the pound - don't know if this happens with Irish poundies.

Bless you for what you're doing. smile.gif

Julia of course SWSW will give back up for this old fellow, I'll ring Ann tomorrow and see what the situation is with him and arrange foster so we can get him healthchecked before moving him, we'll make sure he's comfy before starting the long trek over and I promise you he can come to you for foster once we've established temperament and you're happy with it smile.gif

Is there a thread for funds, as I can chip in?

selina- 08-19-2008
Thanks for all your offers of help with this guy, SWSW doesn't take money for dog's until they are in our care, I'm speaking to Ann soon so will have a clearer picture as to exactly what help he needs, there is every likelihood that he will need veterinary care whilst in Ireland and any help with that can go directly to Ann as she will definitely need help with this (will post a link when we know for sure). Then there is the cost of getting him over and any additional veterinary care when he gets here but we'll take things one step at a time and we'll update everyone all the way. smile.gif

This dog's owner's has now come forward, thanks for all the offer's of help. smile.gif

sallyandyoyo'smum- 08-19-2008
Oh that's good news. so he'll be ok now then? smile.gif smile.gif

we hope so smile.gif
