dont really know where to start
totally blown away by the whole experiance
NOW i know what Springers were born to do - seeing them out there flushing the birds - in the hedgerows - in the undergrowth - doing what Ruby does everyday but in a controlled way was totally awsome and that is not a word a use lightly.
i was mouth open at them in motion - totally brillant
started our day off with a cup of coffee and a nip of sloe gin
My friend Sarah and i didnt know what to expect but we were bundled into the back of a Landrover with four men and six Springers and off across the fields
Me being Claire took three steps into the field and tripped over straight onto my face - well broke the ice anyway
although we were only probably two-three miles from where i live i had no idea most of the time where we were - saw lakes i didnt know existed - woods that appeared from no-where - in fact if we had been left behind would have struggled to find my whay home
after two or three time bundled into the Landrover with now totally muddy and steaming Springers were were covered in mud but was totally enjoying the experiance -
back for lunch - the biggest steak pie, potoatos, spring green, sweede, etc ect
with a few very large V&T - followed by chocolate bread and butter pudding
feeling quite full and sleepy but no we were off again - thought the morning was brillant but this afternoon was better. I went with "the guns" and saw the Labs retreiving the birds and ended up carrying most of them back the the Landrovers
Got dropped back into the village at 5pm with two brace of phesants and a huge old grin on my face
Ruby just attacked me, sniffing and sniffing me
"where you been Mum??????"
been invited to the beaters day next Thursday but i cant go but will go again next season and the Gamekeeper even said he would help me with some training for Ruby
What more can i say - on a total high - BRILLANT
will go to bed tonight dreaming of Springers in action -
wonderful
