Good Idea smile.gif smile.gif

Just back from The Spittal of Glenshee, saw it recommended on the main site - Really good. Hotel is 'honest'. The people who run it have springers and our three were welcome everywhere except the dining room (so we ate in the bar) - we were aware of having to keep the dogs on a lead in some areas (hills, lots of deer, sheep and arctic hares.......)

A couple of photos of the area

PS Last Easter we stayed in the Monroe Inn (also recommended on main site) - that was good too (basic room, but nice atmosphere) and the walks were great.

I am working towards a dream trip to the Ilses in the future. Definitely want to stay at places that are springer friendly. Especially if there are springers on site. I can't bring the boys so I will need to be around some springers so I'm not so home sick and can enjoy the sights.

Wonderful pictures!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Will keep this in mind.

Just to say that DogFriendlyBritain site is very geared up towards dog friendly places to stay etc....I don't know how to cross post....maybe some others here are also members of DFB??

Helena, we love the Spittal of Glenshee Hotel too smile.gif smile.gif.

Recommended to us by Cynthia and we've been up there twice this year. First time we went, there were springer poopies being cute and squidgy and running all around the bar smile.gif smile.gif.

If you don't take your dog with you to the Spittal, they will happily 'loan' you one of their springies to walk in the hills smile.gif. But they are incredibly dog-friendly it has to be said and, if you have dogs with you, they tend to find you a room near an outside door/fire escape for convenience.

Little Dumpledale in SW Wales is also apparently highly recommended for multiple dog households (no max dog limit), but very popular.
