sorry for not coming on yesterday with work , puppies and kids did not get on pc. thankyou as of 3.30 pm yesterday they had removed frankies drip and put him on some solids, they said his poo was a little firmer, and they had sent a smple of his poo off, results next week. So as of tea time yesterday he was a little better but I still don't know if he will make it.
Got to ring them at ten this morning hoping to find out more. I am off to work now, just for the record my hubbie is a full time house husband, Frankie won't be left for hours on his own when I am at work, just feeling guilty ! thank you all for kind words if he does come home can I upload a photo on this site?

keeping fingers crossed for 10 o'clock and hoping he will continue to do well, Sonny had a bad tummy for weeks which turned out to be campylobacta, and an allergy to chicken ohmy.gif then he got cystitis, think he was about 5 months old before his poos were ok, smile.gif

Sorry to hear about little Frankie sad.gif Very dismayed to hear he was sold at just 6 weeks of age, it's far too young to be sent out into the world especially as he was so small to begin with.
I hope he makes good progress and I trust your vets are being sensible and will not even consider vaccinating him until he is much older and well over his current problems as this could push him well over the edge. Get him better and get him home, build him up and take him back again when he's fully fit before you have him innoculated, there'll be plenty of time to get him out on lead walks once he's well enough. I would also check with the breeder to find out if any of the other pups have had problems, it could be that the bitch was carrying a bug while she was pregnant and might have passed something on to the pups, campylobacter is often the cause but your vets will be able to tell you once the results are back.
Get well soon little Frankie smile.gif

Glad to hear things are looking brighter. Whilst vaccinations will obviously have to wait until he's better, there are plenty of things you can be doing once he's home to ensure you don't miss this vital socialisation period - puppies that are poorly to start with often have a very difficult time catching up, and some never do and remain poorly socialised all their lives, which doesn't make for a good family pet. You can take him out in the car, go visiting places where dogs don't generally go, even if it's just a town centre and sit on a bench and watch...... The more things he gets to do before he starts to meet dogs (and he may well be able to meet dogs who have been vaccinated and are well themselves, so ask your vet) the better adjusted to family life he will be. Lead walking can be practised at home too wink.gif

Hi Frankie is coming home, they are putting him on a special diet for now.
My friends dog is the father which bred with a bitch belonging to this supposed dog lover she bumped into.Who she knew socially.( hereafter we will refer to him as the breeder which it appears he is )

frankie was born on the 9th of July which makes him only 5 weeks old actually. The other puppies were double the size the man was selling the other healthy puppies at this age too. it was a case if I did not have frankie now the man was going on holiday and frankie would of had to take his chances. since found out he has had his tailed docked with no certificate the pdsa are not happy about that neither am I. Watch this space as rspca might get in on this.

My friend has a quieter home with 3 vacinated dogs including Frankies father, so today she is taking Frankie home with her to have a quieter week before he comes back here with the children, which will be next saturday,we get the poo results next week
The vet hopes its just the poor start had that made frankie so small and frail and not any medical problem barrring infection. ???

Unfortunately the breeder keeps telling different stories one was that frankie left his mum last thursday , but he told my friend that frankie left his mum 2 weeks ago, i think 2 weeks ago is more likely and I think Frankie was the too young for the "chum" the breeder was giving him. I have to follow this special diet from the vets and give him puppy formula.

Fingers crossed, for him it will be good for him for him to be around my friends dogs socially. When he gets a bit older and is vacinated I will take him puppy classes etc. Please keep your fingers crossed for him while he is in his "respite care" i think if we get through the next 2 weeks he might pull through.
thank you alll will keep you all updated, gotta go pick little frank up now. The pdsa were brilliant by the way

oh Poor little Frankie to be separated from Mum so early - fingers crossed all your care and attention can make up for such a bad start - clearly the 'breeder' didn't have a clue what they were doing. sad.gif
