So what did she do???
WELL! What started as our normal run over the river - we expected them to get muddy as it was low tide and thats what they do but yesterday Poppy excelled herself.
Once in their favourite field running about like loons - poppy stumbled across 'something' she'd like to roll in, nothing new there so initially I just ignored her - but she carried on rolling, and rolling and rolling - then when SHE decided she'd had enough up she gets and well - if I've ever wanted to disown a dog it was then.
Poppy has discovered a liking for COW PATS!!!!!! lots of it and it has to be covering her entire body!!
I did laugh and grabbed my phone to catch a snap - will figure out how to get it from phone to net.
Not only did Poppy stop there, she also found a dead magpie to roll on and a dead rat to try and eat!!
Walking back along the riverbank we bumped into a few other walkers, one that we know who simply said 'see Poppy's enjoyed herself as usual' - I pointed out that this was not our 'usual' and 'step away from the dog' was being bellowed to passers by
Eddie tried getting her washed off in the river but no such luck - home for a bath and a good scrub to try and wash the illuminous staining from her fur!!
So now I'm thinking up a nice barclaycard style motto for Poppy
1 springer spaniel dog £250
An hour at the grooming parlour £40
Dose of frontline £5
An hour walking over the river £Free
Watching your nice clean springer roll in a runny cow pat-= PRICELESS!!
needless to say poppy is looking forward to returning this evening - little does she know that we'll be going up the downs instead!
Funny thing is, I haven't seen a cow over the river bank for a good 3 years. The farmer must be putting them in the field during the day again
