The hills are beckoning, but Hills often means Sheep, which means Leads. Hitherto I've just used whatever lead I've had kicking around at the time, but 2008 is looking like a promising year for getting out of flat Cambridgeshire smile.gif . I am feeling extravagant and am going to treat Nesta to a nice harness (nothing to do with OH being out of the country, laugh.gif honest!). Does anyone have a favourite lead for all-day walking, and if so what sort is it?

We use these shock absorber leads, I can't recommend them enough for hill walking - they can be attached to your waist so you can be 'hands free'. Both mine have them when we are hillwalking with their eurohike harnesses wink.gif

Can get them cheaper on ebay though wink.gif

I like the eurohike harness too. I think it will be invaluable for hillwalking if you needed to lift your dog for any reason.

And I got my harness on ebay too laugh.gif

We used a harness with a retractable (Flippy) attached.....just recently done an 8 miler up in the dales....If your dog is generally good on a lead this combination works well wink.gif

Just to say that I went with Kelly's recommendation of a Ruffwear 'Roamer' lead and it is BRILLIANT - have just spent 4 days in the Lakes with hands free for stick, scrambling and helping kids. Thanks Kelly smile.gif
