Today was our last day on one of the shoots where Rob is a gun, I am a beater. Sad to leave all our friends we have made and it is such a friendly, relaxed shoot, we have thoroughly enjoyed being part of it.
We decided to take Tia and Teal today, as they both worked very well on Saturday. For those that don't know, we got Tia off NESSR last year.
First drive Rob was shooting so had Tia at the peg. The gun next to him shot a pheasant and as he wasn't sure if it was pricked her not, he sent Tia after it. She went out and did a lovely retrieve to hand and then went back to sitting at the peg. I was a stop but then joined in the beating line with Teal, who hunted very well. Not ranging too far from me and did go on point but nothing there - I suspect a pheasant had got up before we got there - she hasn't learnt about scent yet.
I won't bore you with all the drives as we did do 7 today

However, both dogs worked very well throughout the day with a lot of comments being made about both of them. A lot of people were surprised that Tia is a rescue dog and was asking for more information. I said a rescue is something definitely to consider. Teal got a lot of comments, mainly about how well she was working and how nice it was to see how a gwp is supposed to work lol! I think they were just surprised that I could actually walk her to heel off lead, sit her of lead and not keep telling her to sit and actually see her throughout the drives!
Good end to a good shoot! Hopefully, we will make it back some time in the future. I do have a couple of pics but I haven't downloaded them yet.
