Would anybody be interested? If so any ideas where? We were actually going to the Dalby Forest walk before we knew about these rally's, we still are, but would like to do one close to home too.

Ideas from me:

*Beacon Fell, Near Preston - a choice of 3 walking routes with wooded areas etc
*Entwistle Resevoir, Near Bolton - lovely surrounding views, circular route around the res of course!
*Tockholes Wood, Near Blackburn - nice long walk with water, woods and MUD!
*Darwen Tower, Darwen - Long climb up the hill but the views are worth it!
*Trough of Bowland, Between Clitheroe and Lancaster - Endless places to walk.. bloomin' gorgeous!

Fiona and I could bring over the norty girls from the wrong side of the penines... More details of location please so I can look at a map first and plan how to get there - girls get sick driving over the hills if it's too twisty for too long sad.gif

It's been a fair few years since I've been up to Nicky Nook and from what I remember, it isn't very long?? You can extend and go onto the hills but that's sheep country.

We'll have to organise a lancashire walk when I move over there next year! We could do this one :

OK...more or less sorted here.

It's a lovely 2 mile walk, with plenty of wooded area's, water for the springies, infact most of the walk will be along side a stream/small river.

I have enquired at the proposed meeting point... there is a visitors centre with cafe and more or less next door is a pub named 'The Royal Arms' which seemed very dog friendly as when I went in there was at least 3 sat in their with their owners! They have reasonably prices Snacks and Sandwiches, I said I would contact them when we know numbers. There is plenty of parking space.

I will PM anybody who has shown interest in this walk with details of the day (e.g route of the walk, directions etc) when I have uploaded the information onto my computer. For those who would like to check the location the postcode is:

BB3 0PA

If you would like any further info please let me know... in the meantime if you can come along or think you can come along then please post away! smile.gif

Ben (and Rachel).
