Hector has had a Kong Wubba for a month and has great fun playing with it. However he can be destructive and even though this is a strong toy he has managed to dismantle it.

Why I am posting this warning is because inside the webbing casing there are two balls and not a kong shaped thing like you might expect. One ball is large and squeaks (the blue one) the other is a small tennis type ball which only measures about one and a half inches across - THIS COULD CHOKE A DOG GETTING IT STUCK IN ITS THROAT.

Here are some photos:

I am going to write to the manufacturers. I've taken the rest of the toy from Hector to avoid any problems.

I have looked at a couple of places selling them on the net and some do state that they are made up of "Durable Reinforced Nylon Fabric Covers Two Rubber Squeaker Balls In The Small Size and A Squeaker Ball And Solid Tennis Ball In The Large Size."

Val (and Hector)

Thanks for the warning. Kimba has a blue one which he absolutely loves. Luckily I only use it for training.. he never has it by himself.. partly because he has a particular skill at chewing up toys wink.gif

dont think you need to bin it, just play with it under supervision and if they start to destroy it, then bin it.

Barney has destroyed his Wubba too - got the small ball out first and was totally obsessed as it has all the best toys in one - a tennis ball that squeaks! Fortunatly we were around and were able to get him to hand it over. The second ball most certainly isn't a normal tennis ball either and appears quite flimsy without it's fabric cover.

It's not a toy I will be looking to replace with another one.

I suppose with alot of toys many dogs will be fine but there is always going to be some who can dismantle them sad.gif . I was just shocked that they would use such a small, solid ball in a toy which was obviously meant for a dog with a mouth size which could allow it to choke on it - albiet in extreme circumstances.

Poor Heckie is most put out sad.gif

I love the wubbas, they're the toys of joy, but they only get played with when we're in charge they're our toys not his, but I shall be really careful in case they break now, thank you smile.gif

Lucy killed one in about 30 minutes while she was here with us, I was pretty horrified that it wasn't a kong shaped toy as well. mad.gif
