Barney has destroyed his Wubba too - got the small ball out first and was totally obsessed as it has all the best toys in one - a tennis ball that squeaks! Fortunatly we were around and were able to get him to hand it over. The second ball most certainly isn't a normal tennis ball either and appears quite flimsy without it's fabric cover.

It's not a toy I will be looking to replace with another one.

Air dog do squeaky tennis balls of regular size. Its Louie favourite park toy.

Was thinking of getting a wubba for Lou but might reconsider now as he is quite destructive with his toys.

re:unsupervised,

we've got a toy box with free access to lots of things, mainly soft toys that are half dead and rope toys, but NO tennis balls. Charlie's so ball obsessed that we have to be in charge of them. If there's more than one around he can tend to try to put them all in his mouth and it makes me a bit worried.

TBH, I don't think any toys come out unless we're there to play with, unless it's a stuffed kong when we're out, everything else seems to be ignored.

(and there's a draw to hide the really annoying very squeaky things that only come out for special occasions biggrin.gif )

Same here Vic, dead stuffed toys and wragger and no balls.

We have a special box of supervised toys on top of the fridge, Aunty Gilly balls and chews and tennis balls and more balls.

You can set a watch by Jack to get them down biggrin.gif

Ahhhhh now the supervised box on top of the fridge is causing us major problems Aunty Gill's Dino is now dead but the ball has been removed from top of fridge and hidden in my bra drawer for supervised play when my head isnt SPINNING

but now Rubes has taken to sitting by the fridge staring at the empty space - she doesnt even move when you open the fridge get something yummy out and close the door again - think she is obsessed!!!!!

We had a Kong Wubba - got it for her first birthday - lasted about 10 mins - we still have the tails - she loves playing with those but the rest is DEADED and binned. biggrin.gif

the only thing she has not killed is her wragger - that just gets shredded very very slowly so it causes a continued mess of little strings all over the house that keep on coming and the blinking thing doesnt get any smaller - also noticed that we have some little coloured strings in her poo but that is straying from this post completly laugh.gif ph34r.gif

Squeaky duck! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif So funny!

Mum just came round with their lovely new rescue dog to meet our two dogs, everything went well. As they were going she said she must show us a new 'indestructable' toy she had bought, guess what it was! A Kong Wubba, what a coincidence, anyway have warned her about the little balls (ooer missus!) Thanks to you lot.

Dawn & Kizzie- 03-30-2008
Thanks for the warning. Kizzie plays with one round at my mums with her dog. So far they have only managed to pull one of the tails off but perhaps I ought to get it hidden.

Mac has had one of these small kong wubba's for ages luckily he's never been a destroyer of them , but seein that pic and the thought of what could happen is awefull

i'm with him nearly all of the time when the toys are out

just got him a little football as iv'e found at my mums he loves them and runs forever fetching and picking it up , not as keen on letting go of it tho

soft cuddle toys however = instant destruction

the squeakys Gilly got Mac are brilliant tho and he has'nt destroyed or even come close to destroying those

oh and i'm not even mentioning our sofa cushions

MilliesMum- 03-31-2008
You know - these would be fantastic toys if they'd just use a full kong shape instead of that damned little ball unsure.gif . Surely to mould such a thing safely isn't beyond them sad.gif

Why I am posting this warning is because inside the webbing casing there are two balls and not a kong shaped thing like you might expect.  One ball is large and squeaks (the blue one) the other is a small tennis type ball which only measures about one and a half inches across - THIS COULD CHOKE A DOG GETTING IT STUCK IN ITS THROAT.

Dory had one of these and had in in half within an hour, they're not cheap either!! sad.gif

I used to work for Pets at Home and you would be amazed at the things I found inside toys supposedly suitable for dogs.

If you bought one of these from Pets at Home or any other toy your not happy with, take it back and complain. They will replace it or give you a refund - it's their company policy. Don't worry if your dog has trashed it just take it back.

Maybe if these things get returned we might get some decent products for dogs?

MilliesMum- 04-22-2008
Hector has received a replacement toy made my Kong - a sort of funny shaped solid bouncy thing. He's not bothered about it but Millie likes it .......... ah well, that's dogs for ya!!

DBPaws- 04-22-2008
Well that sucks mad.gif I sent a message to kong not to long ago about the material not being as good as I was lead to belive.

We are on our 3rd one;

-First one floated away blink.gif laugh.gif
-Second got destroyed and then stolen by a dog with an owner who didn't give a shite
-Third is hardly used to avoid any other dogs stealing it we use it in house or away from other dogs and that's it

They should make a kong with the material around instead wink.gif
