Is it ok to feed pigs liver? We have a pig farmer in the village who has been ace, and has handed over trotters free cos no-one wants them anymore - today he tells me he has loads of pig's liver @ £1 a tray if I want it.

I have to say that since Dex has been eating raw (10 days or so), I have been astonished, I have never had so many clean, nay, gleaming bowls since I had him. He occasionally gives me a 'look' if I offer something new, but once he tries it, it's hoovered up with great enjoyment (a bit like a child really)......

The end result has also been a revelation, no more toxic poop - yaay laugh.gif , and I am sure he is looking in better condition already, but that might just be my biased opinion!!!!

I'm rambling now, but I also want to say thanks for all the great advice on here.

No problems with the pigs liver Debs, just go easy on amounts as it's quite strong so I would suggest no more than a handful a couple of times a week. You can always use up surplus by making liver cake as treats if you want but if I've got a lot left over I will sometimes lightly fry it and then once cool stuff it in a kong for them to muck about with. You don't want to go stuffing kongs with raw liver!
Glad to hear Dex is enjoying his grub biggrin.gif

I think the slurping, and general licking of whiskers means that Dex says thank you very much Sandy. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Will be getting the pan out later to make up some Kongs - I hadn't thought of that.

I'm not allowed to make liver cake when the husband is in the vicinity, he loves liver but hates the smell apparently blink.gif smile.gif
