Poor baby sending you lots of ST thought, as I am sure everyone else is.
So many babies and newbies on here going through similar things
2 years ago my 4 year old springer went lame on his front right leg. After a few weeks of various medications and rest there was no improvement. At this point I asked to be referred to Davies Vet Specialists near Bedford. They looked inside the elbow joint and diagnosed IOHC. He had a screw inserted which will be left in for life. He had to only go in the garden on a lead for his toilet for 2 weeks. He then started on 5 minute lead walks 3 times a day gradually increasing every few days. After 3 months he was fully recovered and chasing his ball again. I stopped doing flyball as the turn on the box would put too much stress on his elbow but I was told he could continue doing agility but at a lower height. I was told that both elbows are often affected and that the screw could fail. He had the screw put in in May 2006. He does agility twice a week and has 2 hours of off lead exercise a day with non-stop ball retrieving. So far he has had no further problems with either elbow.
Would she be at a clinic near Dorking in Surrey? If it's the same place that Benji went to, then she is in really good hands.....They were wonderful!
Keeping our fingers & paws crossed for you
Hi Everyone,
Sorry i haven't updated you for a bit i have had internet problems.
Well she had her op just over a week ago, she is doing well. She is in her crate most of the time to stop her springing every were. She is on some seditives to help her clam down. She is putting up with it very well and enjoys hugs on the sofa even more now.
As the wound has healed she is getting more comfortable with bending her leg. I vistied a hyrdotherapy centre in Lee on Solent last week to talk to them about treatment there instead of fitzpatrics in surry as is is alot closer to home. I cant wait to get her in there she is going to love it.
Has anyone have any ideas on things to keep her entertained as she is getting so bored in her crate.
Thanks for your messages everyone.
