I'd like to introduce you all to Oscar.

Oscar found himself in a dog pound through no fault of his own. We will never know the circumstances, but for some reason Oscar had been tied to a fence and left. Suffice it to say, I spent a fair time on the phone on his 7th day in the pound and luckily it paid off.

Oscar is about 4 or 5 years old and has been loved in the past. He has certainly eaten too many pies at some point tongue.gif .

He is suffering from dry eye, and has started treatment already. He's also going to have a dental to make his teeth all glamourous. His diet has commenced wink.gif.

Oscar is great with kids and other dogs, and enjoys a healthy interest in cats, but no aggression towards them. All in all, he is a typical Cavalier in nature and the tail never stops wagging.

Here are a couple of photo's. As you will see, Oscar was sporting some rather nice mats when he arrived. Here are his before piccies:

It's 2 weeks tomorrow since Oscar left the pound.

He managed to lose 1lb in his first 6 days and will be weighed again next week. His coat is getting more shiny by the day, and his smile gets bigger every day.

Oscar has been a very much loved pet in the past and we have no way of knowing how he ended up being abandoned. He is a particularly 'with it' cavalier and very switched on. He took to his new name instantly and gets very excited even if he just overhears us mentioning his name in conversation.

He is getting livelier all the time and will be a delight to train, as he is so food-oriented. In the meantime, Bradley and Marlon are teaching him to come back to the whistle - although I think the incentive is foster-mum bearing a treat actually wink.gif

Oscar is not backwards in coming forward and I think he will be even more extrovert as his weight decreases. He really is a very happy dog and gets on with everyone he's met (although he does bark at cats rolleyes.gif ).

Once he's had his dental, I'm sure he'll be even happier. He continues to have his eye ointment and his 'bad' eye will be reviewed again next week. His 'aunty' Selina has offered him a kind donation of some Optimmune, which will be a great
help if he needs it.

I hope to take some 'action' (well, slow 'action') shots over the weekend and will put up a piccie of 2. smile.gif

And, by the way, we aren't going to be FF's wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif - Oscar will be looking for his special forever home in a little while.

No def not failed fosterer's, Oscar will be looking for his very own forever home very very shortly, so if anyone is interested in offering to share their home with this extrovert little guy please get in touch with me or misty3202.

He has lost almost all the weight he needed to lose and is booked in for his dental op on Friday. He will be chipped this weekend and start on Optimmune treatment for his dry eye and then he will have his final assessment.

Good luck little chap! biggrin.gif

Six teeth less, but still as handsome and happy as ever, Oscar is back. biggrin.gif

He's feeling fine and almost as energetic and lively as usual. He's just wolfed down a dish of scrambled egg!

Oscar has been vacc'd, microchipped, wormed and frontlined, and now he's had his dental, he's ready to look for his forever home smile.gif.
