Mary...maybe you could give me some advice too?

Whenever I get the grooming brush out, Finn aged 8 months runs away - No idea why, but he ain't coming backĀ  rolleyes.gif
I've tried to make it fun and I've let him watch everyone else who love it, but he still runs away.

Any suggestions...treats maybe?

Gilly, be firm and treat when he stands still, but take no nonsense you have to secure them somehwere they can't run away from, the best thing is a table or worktop and grooming harness, you can get one which has a sucker on the end that you can attach to your wall, which will stop them getting away

Ooo ooooo Gilly we need a Grooming Harness biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Have visions of Finny flying through the air, "SpiderFinn, SpiderFinn" laugh.gif

*wonders whether to get one for Bam* ph34r.gif

I must just be a bad mum or have a wonderful groomers, cos with each dog I've had they've had an appt made with the groomers immediately to get them in ship shape... and I just take them there and leave them laugh.gif ph34r.gif

Mind you, the groomers are wonderful ladies, came with loads of recommendations, and I've been using them for about 7 or 8 years now...

In fact the boys are going in tomorrow for a shave and a haircut. I take them together and they always wag their tails when going in, never any stress so I take that at it being ok, I figured they'd freak out if she was performing any satanic rituals in there or anything laugh.gif

Even Millie who hates new places and people and gets very nervous and grrr'y will go in there and have a cuddle, she loves it too...

And they come out all smelling wonderful and looking very pretty...

Have asked tomorrow for them completely clipping everything off cos they are like little bears at the moment and their coats are awful and fluffy... once done, mum here is gonna be better at grooming and keep up to it...

Gilly, don't know how to help with Finn, Sonny will not get in the bath or anything at home, he hates the water, the smells, the shampoo... yet when he's at the groomers apparantly he adores it! rolleyes.gif I reckon he just wants to be awkward for mum and savour all the attention from the ladies at the shop... Maybe Finn's going to be the same, or maybe you could start off by instead of grooming them altogether as in 'this is grooming time now for everyone', play with Finn and have a brush hidden behind you or something, then when he's all relaxed and having a nice mummy massage / cuddle slowly introduce a few strokes of the brush, and see if that builds him up getting used to it?!
