I was shooting on Saturday and had Pip as my peg dog. I was stood on one drive, with her sat next to me (without a lead as she will just sit and wait). I watched this rabbit hop to the end of the drive and I thought it would just disappear out the other side. It decided to hop toward the line of guns and sat about half way in between myself and the gun next to me. By this time, Pip could see it. She was sat there trembling, just itching to go.

The rabbit then decided to casually hop towards us! It passed withint 5m of Pippa, who was still really itching to go after it. It went past us and Pip, bless her, just sat and watched it. At the end of the drive, I thought as soon as I release her, she is going to get onto the scent. How wrong was I. I sent her over a high wall to pick up a pheasant, which was a pretty good blind retrieve as well!

Very pleased with how she did. Shame about my shooting though ph34r.gif

I am sure that if she was hunting ahead, she wouldn't have quite as much self control laugh.gif
