We think anyone who hip scores is fab...having seen what hip dysplacia can do to the potential future of a marvellous dog. I think the risk you are taking with the GA is less than the risk of siring pups with poorly hips and shows how responsible you are and how much you love your dogs and their future siblings. Don't worry too much about the GA - Max has had at least 4 and never a blip - Hilda and Edgar both in next week for their respective boy and girl ops so we will all pace together, and send positive thoughts.

Steve - he will be fine!!

I was a terribly cruel Mum cos Chase was scored the day we went to the CLA (the thursday) although he had sedation not GA and the vet knew he was going to be crated with a fan on him and all the other cooling stuff I have. In the event he slept, looked a tad drunk that evening and was fine by the time he was on duty the next day.

I got his scores today (oops yesterday cos I am supposed to be in bed now) and although they are not fab they are under breed mean and his breeder is happy with them (esp as there is a fair chance one of the readings is worse due to play with Bricey). In conjunction with his basic conformation and his current ability he may become a daddy in the future but certainly not to all and sundry.

Hope it all goes well Steve, know how you feel about the GA's though, always a worry but he's a young fit healthy boy Fingers crossed for good results and he actually comes in lower than both his parents, now wouldn't that be fab! Nice to see you doing the responsible thing for the good of the future of the breed
