Can anyone recommend a good hoover.? One that will go on carpet and hard wood floor.

Sorry if I have posted this before, been thinking of getting one for a while.

I am a Dyson person, mine is quite old now and works on my carpets and tiled kitchen floor, would always have a dyson if given the choice biggrin.gif

Dyson animal for me to, even if it is does get faulty the dyson guarantee is exceptional and they have always been out within a couple of days, and I believe you now get a two year guarantee with all there new vacuums.

Copes with all the animal hair in this place really well, and i bought the turbo tool as well for the stairs. smile.gif

are they both upright cleaners?

Dyson for me too, they come in upright and cylinder models. I found this on their site

All new Dyson vacuum cleaners purchased after 27th July 2006 now receive a Dyson 5 year guarantee*. We’re certain it’s the only part of your Dyson you won’t put to good use. But if you do, just ask and we’ll try to fix the problem over the phone. If we can’t, we’ll aim to send a Dyson engineer to see you within 3 working days.

* Excludes DC16 Root 6™. This machine comes with a Dyson 2 year guarantee.

Hmmmm.....the motor on ours went after 6 mionths and it took them over three weeks to come out and fix it dry.gif It's still a blooming good vacuum though -Animal cylinder

Aqua vac....its brilliant.....bird food killed our dyson this keeps going reguardless....will never have another dyson

MilliesMum- 04-04-2007
Dyson fan here. I have had to have replacement parts and, sadly a new motor sad.gif but it still does a good job and any bits which needed replacing have been posted out to me pronto. Mostly they have been due to me being a bit heavy handed blink.gif

Edited to add that I think we had a vacuum cleaner topic a while back so it might be worth doing a search.

After getting Fipps I bought an Animal Dyson, pricy but I really love this hoover. I got the upright one as they have a better suction (apparently). Whatever hoover you get, get a bagless one, cause of the many hairs it will pick up.

Dyson here to biggrin.gif

i have a Henry, a dyson and a vax, my fave is the Henry, my god it will even suck up rubble, wouldnt give you tuppence for the dyson

Jax- 04-05-2007
Upright Dyson here too ( and a vax). We've had it for five years with no probs ( probably tempting fate now biggrin.gif ). Works well on the wooden floors and the carpets - its gets a lot of wear with all the dog hairs in this house but copes well.

Only downside is it needs me to turn it on and push it biggrin.gif

Dyson animal girl here as well - mine has survived brick dust and cleaning out the fire hearth (naughty i know)

Thanks everyone. smile.gif I am going to surf the net to see what kind of money were talking.
i'm gonna be cheeky and print off the best price I can find, and take it to one of the large electrical shops and see if they will beat the price. tongue.gif Worth a try, will keep you posted. wink.gif
