Oh my! huh.gif totally confuddled now!! ohmy.gif

I have just read this post with interest.. mainly because Holly still isn't at the stage where she needs a good grooming session!

Do ESS get fluffy? Holly has got what I call bum fluff on her brown patch on her side, but this is the only place I have noticed it.. she does also have some wispy white bits sometimes, but not much.. She was spayed about a month or so ago now., but they fluffy bits have been there for a while. Also, she is still quite short haired, with the odd flicky bit coming on her legs and tail, so she will get longer haired??

I do try to brush/comb her, but she hates it so we have to pin her down to do it..

So, just to confirm (coz I is a bit fick!)

1. I need to cut the hair on her feet which is sticking up above her toes?
2. I finger-pull out the fluffy bits (which I have done as she doesn't like the comb)
3. Keep her brushed / combed all over?

Told you I was a bit thick.. we had a german shepherd before Holly, who loved to be groomed, but my OH never said anything about grooming his Welshies when he had them. sad.gif

Well, I pull the hair up between the toes and cut down the way with a single sided thinning scissors till it looks reasonably neat

Fipps didn't like to be fiddled with when she was a pup, but we persevered ... OH holding her with tasty chewy treats and I got going with the scissors (paws and ears only though, more wasn't necessary). We struggled on the floor, but it's easier to put the dog on a raised surface like a table. Today I manage her myself, I got a grooming table where I can put her head through a sling, otherwise she gets her nose cut when I do her paws rolleyes.gif . It's easier though if someone can help.

I ordered a Mars Coat King last night, blade 16 and am looking forward to it.

I still wonder what a stripping stone is unsure.gif .

edited to say...I found it smile.gif

yes, he had two welshies, boy and girl. but that was before I met him.. Holly is my first spaniel of any description - and to be honest., I'd have a houseful if they were all like her.. she's fantastic! rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I've been out today and bought a stripping comb.. I couldn't find the coat king thing, or anything what resembled it.. and noone's heard of a furminator! (thought this would be good for the cats - two persians!).

What's the thing with the stripping comb then? I got a smallish one around an inch wide, fine hair, but it doesn't seem to do nowt.. or is it just me???
Any hints and tips gratefully recieved.. lol.
