Hi all,

My 'real' name is Sara. I live in sunny south Devon. I am the proud owner of one 15 week old springer puppy - Vinnie. I have had Vinnie since he was nearly 7 weeks old, and he is the first springer I have ever owned.

I previously had a collie, and trained obedience and agility with him. I am hoping that Vinnie will be helping with some beating at a couple of local shoots, but he will also be doing agility (if he fancies it!) I am fortunate to have some friends across the road who also work their dogs at the shoots, so they are going to show me the ropes.

I found this site when I googled 'training spaniels', so will be looking around for hints and tips in lots of areas, especially as I don't know how a springers' mind works yet in quite the way that I knew how a collies' mind worked!

Well, I'll leave it at that for now.

Loads of helpful people on here sara, including gundog and agility people and as for how a Springer's mind works if anyone ever finds out could you let me know me to?

In case you were wondering, I recently met Sara and the gorgeous Vinnie through a yahoo raw feeding group, while we were chatting Vinnie dug the biggest hole in her garden and when she saw him and said "Vinnie stop digging" He promptly hid in it and peeked over the top, it was one of the funniest Springer moments I've ever witnesed, he is going to be mischief with a capital M, but so adorable with it. biggrin.gif

Do you meet regularly then? I met Selena yesterday - she was kind enough to take some excess frozen food off my hands!

I haven't managed to meet Mark yet, but it's only planning that prevents it biggrin.gif

There is a sponsored walk in Bodmin next weekend if you're free Sara and it's not to far away, there will be lots of Springer's at that. Obviously if you go only do a short walk fwith Vinnie cause of his delicate growing bones smile.gif
