why the 'swelling' happened.

That's an easy one to answer, blood was leaking past the ligatures and entering the scrotal sack, hence the need to re-open and re-tie the ligatures.

Of course my confidence with the vet's is bound to be affected and I could just now be nit-picking on the sligh-*test*-('") thing to justify this lack of confidence with them. However it doesn't take away from the fact that they are/were (still not known) wanting to charge me for the hospital stay/treatment and pet ambulance transfer. If I'd have removed the lampshade and he'd ripped/nipped the stitches out, if I'd have allowed him to jump around like an idiot immediately after the procedure then yes I would expect to have to pay for any costs arising out of my negligence, as none of these things happened and the complications arose from their negligence then I don't see why I should have to foot the bill.

The main thing is, Rafi's now home where he should be, he's eating well enough and has passed water and had a bowel movement this morning. He's eating from his bowl without the lampshade on (under constant and close supervision) and even attempted a little game of tug with Kibi (my other pup) earlier on. He's majorly pee'd off with the lampshade and also the fact that he can't have a run around, hey ho my springer is getting his spring back, thanks for the thoughts and words peeps.
Regards
Roy.

Oh the poor thing.......................glad he's home though. He will improve better with you. Big him a gentle squeeze for me.

Agree with Fudds.........................get yourself off to Boots or Holland & Barrett and get some Arnica tablets for him and start getting those into him as well as the other d=meds he is on........................they will help the bruising reduce drastically. I had a foster for Jackie who had come over from ireland the day after his little boy op and I have nver seen swelling and bruising like it in my life. he was put on antibiotics by my vet but I also gave him Arnica and it really helped. Put my girls on it too when they had their girly ops. Good stuff.

Great news Roy smile.gif

I hope he gets better soon and it would certainly be decent if the vet would reconsider charging you.....it doesn't sound like it was negligence on your part.
