I wrote on a thread a while a go that Oliver just wouldn't stay but yesterday i kept returning him to the spot every time he moved and then he sat there whilst i backed up to the end of the room and said come on.
He loved it and kept running back to sit at the end of the room. Today i stopped using a food treat and put his favourite ball down and told him to stay, even though he was trembling with excitement he stayed every time, getting lots of cuddles and his ball when he was told to come on. I was so chuffed as i didn't think a week ago he would ever do this.
I am going to keep this up everyday moving on to outdoors and longer distances but one day at a time.
He is so clever i can even forgive him for hiding my washing under the bush in the garden!!!!

thankyou. It seems a really small thing but it makes my day.

Fab Sandra, having had a creeping welshie for years I know how good these things can be biggrin.gif biggrin.gif .

Just one thing though, I found with Freddy that when teaching him a stay it worked easier for both of us if I actually went back to him before he was released from the position, if I recalled him he soon was back anticipating being allowed to rejoin me. Just a thought......

Good luck with that one!

_ i find mine will leave something dull, like a bit of paper or a leaf - but when it was the box off the worktop containing two slices of pepperonni pizza with double chillies.... they clearly thought the punishment would be worth the crime ohmy.gif laugh.gif and judging by the looks on their faces when they had finished scoffing, it was laugh.gif
