It was 12 July 2007 when I fell in love with a picture of a very scared springer that had come to the UK from Ireland. With even just seeing a photo I knew this springer girl had already got my heart. That springer girl was named Precious.
The day I met her, I was totally lost, even though I couldn’t get more than an arms length near her. I knew I had one thing on my side and that was time.
Arrangements were made and my daughter and I went to collect her and within days she had stolen Simon heart too. We knew things were going to be very slow but we had the time. My daughter said she would be like a flower, very slowly opening as she got more confident and less scared……………………………….so she named her Lily, precious Lily.
Somewhere along the line she realised we were ok to trust and that life was good here in our home so she decided she would stay with us. She has taught us so much, how everything comes to those who wait it just takes time and encouragement, that sometimes things are just meant to be (with a little help from friends eh Jackie) , she has taught Jenny how to play they have such fun, that there is such a thing as recall which we didn’t believe in cause of Jenny bogging off all the time,

how it is important to put away shoes otherwise they get chewed up and most importantly that the minute I have finished my first cup of tea in the morning it is time for her breakfast otherwise she will jump on my head!!!
Well today is precious Lily’s 1st Gotcha Day
And I just want to say a huge thank you to Jackie (Seapigeon) for allowing Lily to adopt us and to Lily for becoming the beautiful springer girl you are now. We still have a way to go but every step we take together is forward. I love you so much Lily
Happy 1st Gotcha Day sweetheart,
