Hi Everyone!
Just a quick question really, I have a liver and white ESS(spot)and a lemon cocker spaniel(Pepe who sheds loads!)
We have re homed both dogs spot is clipped while pepe is not.
I have recently started to do the cheat version of hand stripping with the elastic band round a comb which is great and has removed lots of dead dull hair making both dogs look much better how ever i am unsure how often i should be doing this?
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks Vic x
you can do it as often as you like as it removes dead coat so the living coat will be left
thanks for replying,
thats fab then have been doing it about every other day for a couple of weeks but thought this might be to much hence the post.Once again ST has given me the answer!

Just to add to this post, when I brush Brodie, no hair on brush.
As soon as he gets on the seats in my car, he sheds hair.
His coat is quite fine and I seldom brush him simply coz it seems a waste of time. But if I pull at his coat ( light stripping) , I get hair from him.
Would stripping with an elastic band round a comb be better? Is it an ordinary comb and is there a special way to do it?
Being no expert...but basically that's all I do...I have a grooming comb (about 8 teeth per inch) and I have woven the elastic band around the teeth of the comb and then comb away. It was a great tip posted on here previously and very effective too (so this comb never gets used on my hair though.....already too thin as it is
