Is there anyway we can get a flyer or something to download and print off at home?!?!?!

I keep meeting loads of people with Springers and OH tells them about the site (he does a really good job too) biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

We have mentioned the New Forest springy walk (which is the one most local) too and most people seem very interested! We have collected a phone number for one of the ladies so I can give her more details but it would be handy to have something to give other springy owners with details of the website on smile.gif

the only thing that would concern me is the walks getting too large and therefore Spring Thing becoming formally resposible for them, and legally should anything go wrong. Its something we really need to consider before we openly promote the site unsure.gif

Understand Freya's point of view totally here. We all love this site and the ST meets but ultimately it is Freya that is responsible for ST so any negative incidents would reflect badly not just on the ST site but ultimately her.

Personnally I would not want to be openly advertising our meets anywhere other than the forum, it leaves us open to potential risks from unknown people and possible dognapping situations.

Difficult situation because i like promoting this site but it needs to be done carefully and in a controlled manner.

Also I would agree that it is important that meets don;t get too large or if they are over a certain size then dogs would need to be kept on lead otherwise it would be far too difficult to control and would be very intimidating for other members of public. Perhaps we could try and organise training days or have a go at agility/ flyball etc days rather than just mass walks.

I erad Kerry's post as meaning purely to advertise the site not the meets, not sure though.
If I bump into springer owners and can weedle the internet into the conversation I often tell them about ST but feel that many people might not remember by the time they get home the web addy. I think this is what she was meaning, something to hand out with the web addy on and reason behind the site.

I printed some cards out with a picture of my three and the address of ST, I've given a few out when speaking to springer owners in passing.

I would love flyers with details of the site on them,we have a fair few springers come through club smile.gif

Yes I think a poster advertising the site is a good idea

I was thinking I could ask the Corn Merchant to put one on the Notice Board as he also stocks dog food.

Then there is the local vet and also Dog Grooming Places.

I try and tell people what a great site this is, and if someone could design a simple poster that members could download, they could display where appropriate and give some to Springer Rescue for would be springer owners to pick up.

We must have someone who has a talent for making a poster rolleyes.gif

BTW are we having new car stickers ?

I have yet to find someone who will do them in small batches for a fair price, I cannot afford to buy in 100's and then sell only 20 or 30.

I don't want flyers to promote the walks - I want them to give info about the site. I don't tend to talk to horrible people just people who have a genuine interest in springies.

The lady I met last night on Poole quay has now joined ST which is fab (as she is lovely) but it would have been nice to be able to give her the site address just in case she forgot it.

I have also just finished discussions with Leon as to a price for the stickers (sorry it has taken sooo long he is a very busy man smile.gif ). I'll email you the price Freya and if you are interested then we willgo from there. Good thing is I can order single ones too biggrin.gif

thanks kerry, you know I didn't mean that you would speak to horrid people, its just something that has to be done carefully. I will see what I can do about a small printable flyer this week.

I was thinking of maybe a PDF file that only members have access to so that they can print off forms from home?! unsure.gif

You could alwys register with vistaprint and get a load of free business cards made up, after all you only need something small with the website address on it. You can get a sample run of 100 free apart from p&p and there's nothing stopping all of you registering for it.

If I remember right isn't general chat only viewable by members? if so it could be put in there, or as a bit of added security perhaps if Freya has the poster saved on her PC then you can only have access to it if you request it & Freya emails the file to you, which in theory gives Freya some control over who is printing them out etc perhaps the poster file could only be given out to members of at least 1/2/3/6 months huh.gif

Sorry Freya not mean't to be giving you extra work!

Think you might be worrying a bit too much there. Why would non-members want to print a flyer off to advertise the site? If someone is that bothered about sharing the site out then they're going to be a member.
