Mugi is a very nicely behaved dog 99.5% of the time and I have obviously reaped the benefit of his previous owners hard work.

One thing he struggles with though is sit or down stay, he can't see the point when in the village hall training for his KCGC and to be honest at the age of 11.5yrs I only take him training for fun so I am not too bothered.

Imagine my surprise then on Friday, Mr Mugi managed an 8 MIN sit/stay with me up to 10m away from him cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif .

The reason for the change of heart?????? He was waiting to start a pheasant drive which obviously is a great reward for him. In reality I moved him from the position before he was ready as I wanted to be able to reward a positive so I let him go hunt out a patch of ground behind me where I knew phezzies had been.

So if I want him to achieve his silver 2 min stay I obviously need to take the -*test*-('") in the field rolleyes.gif smile.gif .

That is brilliant and just proves , like you say what the right motivation can do.
Rufus actually does a far better sit/down stay when out in the field, he just doesn't see the point indoors.
