Do any of you fast your dogs for a day a week?

Murphy seems to be less thrilled by his raw diet now he's been on it a few months. But he is still eating more than his ever done on dry food, and as he is eating more generally maybe he leavng stuff as he's not hungery. I'm wondering if fasting then a day will help, I've read a couple of books which say it's good for the digestive system to rest. Or should I start only feeding them once a day, even though this means they would be eating more food in one sitting.

Any thoughts would be very welcome.

I don't routinely fast them but if any of them are getting less keen I will drop the odd meal for that dog and it soon sharpens the appetite back again.

I don't fast Fipps either, she is fed every 24 hours and she would beg if I left her much longer than that. Don't like to see my girl hungry unnecessarily.

A friend of mine fasted her dog 1 day a week until she died at the age of 17! Angel is really not a foody dog and will only eat when she is hungry, she is fed twice a day, but occasionally i will skip her breakfast if she shows no interest after 10 mins of it being served up.

Mine will have a fast day if I think they need it, generally about once every three to four weeks.
